Though we are known mainly for our exciting and fun filled events and parties, Barmuvinjam also strives to make a difference within the community. It is with this philanthropist spirit that we at Barmuvinjam are proud to present the Annual Bermuda Day “Charity Chip” (formally “Chip Against Cancer”).
To “Chip” or “chipping” is a Caribbean term used to describe the actions you perform while following the “Big Truck” (music truck). ...So whether you are wuking or wining; jumping or grinding or even if you are just walking and talking as long as u are moving and grooving behind the big truck you are Chipping!!!
Once again, each person in our group will be wearing a T-shirt that reads “BARMUVINJAM’S CHARITY CHIP,” as we make our way around the parade route collecting donations for our cause!
What cause you ask??? Well that is up to you!!
We would like your input in choosing this year’s charity recipient! Please reply to this email with your charity suggestions!
The Charities with the most nominations will be put to a final vote by the Barmuvinjam Executive and the chosen charity will be announced May 1, 2011.
In addition to the Bermuda Day Chip, we will be holding a fund-raising soca party called “Socaholics” on April 30, 2011 to help offset the cost of the Chip and increase the donation.
